Hello world!
June 5, 2008
It hit me the other day – my vision is so bad that I almost can’t function.
I’ve learned to ignore this by always wearing my contacts, but that pays a toll on you as well. My fiancee and I went on a night out with our friends the other day. Of course, I chose to wear my contacts for the evening (avoiding the glasses). At a certain point in the night, however, my eyes could take no more. My eyes were red and dry, so I tossed the contacts out. At that moment I realized two things. I no longer can wear the contacts since they irritate my eyes, and without them, I am lost. Faces were a blur, menus were hazy, and the street lights looked like large shining christmas ornaments.
I am -5.0. I’ve thought about LASIK before, but this time I thought about it seriously. I’ve known many friends and co-workers who have had LASIK and have nothing but good things to say. Jealous of their vision, I’m considering the procedure. It’s amazing how vision can impact your life. Perhaps I could save the additional 15 minutes in the morning that I spend prying the contacts into my eyes. I’ve just started looking into LASIK, but I want more input. Should I do the procedure?
